Why expert advice is worth having
Organisations rarely fail Energy Audit because the standard is hard. They fail because the evidence does not match what the auditor asks for.
It has to survive after we leave
A Energy Audit system that only works while a consultant is on site fails its first surveillance audit. We build it so your own people can run it, and train them to do so.
Template packs fail on contact
Downloaded Energy Audit documentation describes a company that does not exist. Staff do not recognise the process, records never get made, and the gap shows up on audit day.
Surveillance never stops
A Energy Audit certificate is the start of a three year cycle, not the end of a project. Building for the surveillance audits from day one costs far less than rebuilding before each one.
Findings get closed, not logged
Most Energy Audit audits produce findings. What matters is whether they are closed with genuine corrective action or papered over, because the next auditor reads the last report first.

What Energy Audit is worth to you
Certification is a commercial decision before it is a technical one. This is where the return usually shows up.
Payback Ranked and Costed
A proper audit lists each measure with its investment, annual saving and payback, so you fund the quick wins first.
Tariff and Demand Charges
Reviewing contracted demand, power factor and time of use pricing often cuts the bill without touching a single machine.
Mandated Audit Compliance
Designated consumers in India and several other markets must have accredited energy audits carried out at prescribed intervals.
Idle Load Eliminated
Metering typically exposes compressors, chillers and lighting running right through non production hours at full commercial cost.

Look at how it is structured before you commit
A good Energy Audit document set is smaller than most people expect and far better organised. Numbering that makes sense, revision control that holds, records that prove the system ran rather than that someone wrote a policy. See it for yourself in a short demo before you decide who to work with.
Energy Audit in detail
Measuring where energy goes and what it costs you
An energy audit quantifies consumption across a facility, identifies where energy is wasted, and puts numbers against what recovering it would cost and save. Scope typically covers electrical distribution and power quality, motors and drives, compressed air, pumping and fans, refrigeration and air conditioning, boilers, furnaces and steam distribution, lighting, and process heat recovery. It ends in engineering recommendations with investment, saving and payback attached, not in general advice about being more efficient.
In India, designated consumers in notified energy intensive sectors must have audits conducted by accredited energy auditors under the Energy Conservation Act, and state designated agencies enforce that duty. Other organisations commission audits because tariffs have risen, because an ISO 50001 system requires an energy review, because a parent company has set a reduction target, or because a footprint exercise has just shown where the emissions come from. Hotels, hospitals, malls and commercial towers audit for the same reasons factories do.
Instrumentation, load studies and the numbers behind each recommendation
The work is instrument based. We log electrical parameters at incomers and major feeders across full production cycles, measure motor loading against rating, test compressed air for leakage, pressure drop and generation efficiency, check boiler and furnace combustion efficiency and flue losses, survey steam distribution for failed traps and insulation loss, examine chiller and refrigeration performance against design, and measure lighting levels against the task rather than counting fittings.
Measurements are turned into an energy balance, so consumption is accounted for instead of estimated, and specific energy consumption is calculated per unit of output so the site can track itself afterwards. Each opportunity is worked up individually with the engineering behind it: current condition, proposed change, expected saving in units and in currency, implementation cost, payback and any effect on production. Assumptions are stated openly so your engineers can challenge them.
A costed savings list, ranked by payback
You receive an energy balance, benchmarked specific consumption, and a list of measures ranked by payback and separated into no cost operational changes, low cost fixes and capital projects, with the detail an engineering team needs to execute or to tender. Where a statutory audit is required, the report follows the prescribed format. MSCi carries out the audit directly, and where the law requires an accredited energy auditor, that requirement is met before work starts.
Most sites find a meaningful share of their savings in operating practice and maintenance rather than in new equipment, which means the first tranche costs almost nothing: compressed air leaks, idling equipment, oversized motors running unloaded, failed steam traps, set points nobody has revisited in years. The measured baseline also settles arguments later, because claimed savings from a project can be checked against real consumption.

Energy Audit questions we are asked most
What will we have to put in place for Energy Audit?
Finds where energy and money are being lost, with costed corrective options. The requirements fall into four buckets: define it, document it, run it long enough to generate records, then audit it yourself before the certification body does.
How long does Energy Audit take?
Two to four months is the honest range for most organisations, measured from gap analysis to the certification audit. What moves it is how much you already document, how quickly people can be released for training, and the certification body's own diary.
Do you issue the Energy Audit certificate yourselves?
No, and no consultant should. The certificate comes from an independent accredited certification body after their own audit. We prepare you to pass it and we are there on the day to close findings. That separation is exactly what makes the certificate worth holding.
How is Energy Audit consultancy priced?
We price per engagement rather than per seat, because a single site business and a five site group need very different amounts of work. You get a written proposal covering scope, audit days and fees before committing to anything.
Which industries need Energy Audit?
We map Energy Audit to 7 sectors and it sits in our audits & training practice. Organisations usually arrive because a specific buyer, regulator or tender committee has asked. Tell us who is asking and we will confirm whether this is the standard that satisfies them.
Can you work remotely, or do you need to be on site?
Both, and hybrid. Gap analysis and audit day usually benefit from someone physically present, while documentation and training work perfectly well remotely. We fit delivery to your sites and schedule rather than the reverse.
