Why expert advice is worth having
Organisations rarely fail Internal Audits and Gap Analysis because the standard is hard. They fail because the evidence does not match what the auditor asks for.
A date you can actually commit to
Knowing which parts of Internal Audits and Gap Analysis can be compressed and which cannot is the difference between meeting a tender deadline and explaining why you missed it.
The certification body is independent
We prepare you for Internal Audits and Gap Analysis, and an accredited body decides. Because we do not issue the certificate, our only interest is that you actually pass, which is what makes the preparation worth paying for.
Scope decides the price
Getting the Internal Audits and Gap Analysis scope wrong is expensive in both directions. Too wide and you pay for audit days you never needed. Too narrow and the certificate does not cover what your customer asked about.
Surveillance never stops
A Internal Audits and Gap Analysis certificate is the start of a three year cycle, not the end of a project. Building for the surveillance audits from day one costs far less than rebuilding before each one.

What Internal Audits and Gap Analysis is worth to you
Certification is a commercial decision before it is a technical one. This is where the return usually shows up.
Surprises Removed
Finding your own gaps before the certification body arrives turns a potential major non conformity into ordinary housekeeping.
Certification Maintained
Every management system standard requires internal audit, and a weak programme is a common reason surveillance visits go badly.
Leadership Gets Real Data
Audit findings give senior management an unfiltered view of operations that routine departmental reporting almost never provides.
Improvement Ideas Surface
Auditors walking the floor hear practical fixes from operators that would never reach management through the normal reporting chain.

Look at how it is structured before you commit
A good Internal Audits and Gap Analysis document set is smaller than most people expect and far better organised. Numbering that makes sense, revision control that holds, records that prove the system ran rather than that someone wrote a policy. See it for yourself in a short demo before you decide who to work with.
Internal Audits and Gap Analysis in detail
The audit you run on yourself, and the gap analysis before it
Internal audit is the check an organisation runs on its own management system, required by every ISO standard that can be certified. Gap analysis is its earlier cousin, run before a system exists, comparing current practice against a standard to size the work ahead. Both examine the same kind of evidence. The difference is that a gap analysis produces a project plan, while an internal audit produces findings against a system you have already committed to operating.
Organisations outsource this work for two reasons. Small teams cannot spare people with the right training, and independence is hard to achieve inside a department where everyone reports to the same manager. Auditing your own work is ruled out by the standards for good reason. Companies also bring us in ahead of a certification or surveillance visit, or after a complaint or a recurring problem suggests the internal programme has not been finding what it should.
Programme, sampling and findings written to be closed
We build a programme first, covering every process, clause and site across the certification cycle, weighted by risk and past performance rather than spread evenly for tidiness. Each audit is planned with objectives, criteria and a sampling approach agreed in advance. On site we follow processes end to end instead of working down a checklist, because handovers between departments are where management systems usually break and exactly where a clause by clause tour never looks.
Findings are written to be actionable: the requirement, what was seen, where and when, and why it falls short. We separate nonconformities from opportunities and from observations, and we do not inflate the count to look thorough. Root cause analysis is coached with the process owner rather than dictated, since a corrective action the owner does not believe in gets closed on paper and reappears at the next audit unchanged.
Findings, trends and a system that improves between certificate visits
You receive the audit programme, individual audit plans and reports, a consolidated findings register with owners and dates, and a trend view across audits showing which processes generate repeat issues. For a gap analysis the output is a clause by clause status, a documented plan with effort estimates and a realistic timeline to readiness. MSCi conducts these audits directly. Certification stays with an accredited body, and your internal audit results form part of what that body examines.
The change is that surveillance audits stop producing surprises. Issues are found and closed internally, so the external auditor sees a system correcting itself, which is the strongest evidence of maturity available. Management review gains real input instead of a recycled slide deck. And the trend data usually points at one or two processes where the problem is design rather than discipline, which is where improvement effort actually pays back.

Internal Audits and Gap Analysis questions we are asked most
What will we have to put in place for Internal Audits and Gap Analysis?
The requirements fall into four buckets: define it, document it, run it long enough to generate records, then audit it yourself before the certification body does.
How long does Internal Audits and Gap Analysis take?
Two to four months is the honest range for most organisations, measured from gap analysis to the certification audit. What moves it is how much you already document, how quickly people can be released for training, and the certification body's own diary.
Do you issue the Internal Audits and Gap Analysis certificate yourselves?
No, and no consultant should. The certificate comes from an independent accredited certification body after their own audit. We prepare you to pass it and we are there on the day to close findings. That separation is exactly what makes the certificate worth holding.
How is Internal Audits and Gap Analysis consultancy priced?
We price per engagement rather than per seat, because a single site business and a five site group need very different amounts of work. You get a written proposal covering scope, audit days and fees before committing to anything.
Which industries need Internal Audits and Gap Analysis?
We map Internal Audits and Gap Analysis to 24 sectors and it sits in our audits & training practice. Organisations usually arrive because a specific buyer, regulator or tender committee has asked. Tell us who is asking and we will confirm whether this is the standard that satisfies them.
Can you work remotely, or do you need to be on site?
Both, and hybrid. Gap analysis and audit day usually benefit from someone physically present, while documentation and training work perfectly well remotely. We fit delivery to your sites and schedule rather than the reverse.
