Why expert advice is worth having
Organisations rarely fail GDPR because the standard is hard. They fail because the evidence does not match what the auditor asks for.
The certification body is independent
We prepare you for GDPR, and an accredited body decides. Because we do not issue the certificate, our only interest is that you actually pass, which is what makes the preparation worth paying for.
Self assessment is generous
Everyone marks their own GDPR homework kindly. An outside gap analysis tells you the uncomfortable part while it is still cheap to fix rather than three weeks before the audit.
Someone has to own the detail
GDPR generates a large amount of small, unglamorous work. Left to whoever has a spare afternoon it drifts for months. Given an owner with a plan it takes weeks.
Your team already has a day job
Running GDPR in house means taking your most capable people off revenue work for months. For most organisations that hidden cost is larger than the fee for doing it properly.
Prefer to just ask someone about GDPR rather than fill in a form?
What GDPR is worth to you
Certification is a commercial decision before it is a technical one. This is where the return usually shows up.
European Client Retention
EU customers must appoint processors who can demonstrate compliance, so visible gaps in your programme quietly end the relationship.
Fine Exposure Reduced
Penalties reach a share of global turnover, and demonstrable accountability is what regulators weigh when they decide on severity.
Transfer Mechanisms Fixed
Proper contractual and assessment groundwork keeps data flowing lawfully out of Europe instead of stopping halfway through a contract.
Subject Requests Handled
A defined process for access and erasure requests means the statutory deadline is met without pulling engineers off delivery work.

Look at how it is structured before you commit
The quickest way to judge a consultant is to look at their paperwork. In a demo we open our GDPR document set and show you the hierarchy: what sits in the manual, what drops into procedures, what becomes a form, and how each one traces back to a clause the auditor will ask about.
GDPR in detail
Personal data rules that follow the data, not the company
The General Data Protection Regulation governs processing of personal data belonging to people in the European Union and European Economic Area. It applies to controllers who decide why and how data is processed and to processors acting on their instructions. Its reach is extraterritorial: an Indian or Gulf company offering goods and services to people in Europe, or monitoring their behaviour, is caught regardless of where its servers sit. Maximum fines are set against worldwide annual turnover.
In practice it arrives through contracts. European clients require a data processing agreement, security schedules and audit rights, and their own regulators expect them to check you. Software companies, business process operations, recruitment and payroll providers, ecommerce sellers, travel and hospitality businesses and research organisations all meet it. Employee data counts too, so a European subsidiary or a handful of remote staff creates obligations that have nothing to do with the customer side of the business.
Records of processing, lawful basis and the transfer problem
Work starts with the record of processing activities, because you cannot comply with rules about data you have never listed. We map purposes, categories of data and data subjects, recipients, retention periods and international transfers, then attach a lawful basis to each purpose and test whether it actually holds. Consent gets used far more often than it should be. Legitimate interests need a balancing assessment written down, and special category data needs a separate condition of its own.
From there: privacy notices that describe reality, a procedure for handling access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection requests inside the statutory deadline, impact assessments for high risk processing, breach notification with the clock built into it, processor agreements flowing down to your own subprocessors, and transfer mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses supported by a transfer impact assessment. Security measures are documented against the regulation's security article rather than described in general terms.
Documented accountability you can put in front of a regulator
The deliverable set is the processing record, the policy and notice suite, request handling and breach procedures with their logs, assessment templates and completed assessments, agreement templates, a transfer register and training records. Where a data protection officer is required or simply useful, we help define the role and protect its independence. The regulation is not certifiable the way a management standard is, so we often pair the evidence with ISO 27701 or ISO 27001 certification issued by an independent body.
What changes is the speed of the sales cycle and the temperature of incidents. Client security and privacy reviews get answered from documents that already exist. A subject access request stops being an emergency, because somebody owns it and the search route is known. And if a breach occurs, the assessment and notification decisions follow a written method, which is the first thing a supervisory authority asks to see afterwards.

Want an honest view of where you stand on GDPR?
GDPR questions we are asked most
What will we have to put in place for GDPR?
The requirements fall into four buckets: define it, document it, run it long enough to generate records, then audit it yourself before the certification body does.
What is a realistic timeline for GDPR?
Two to four months is the honest range for most organisations, measured from gap analysis to the certification audit. What moves it is how much you already document, how quickly people can be released for training, and the certification body's own diary.
Do you issue the GDPR certificate yourselves?
No, and no consultant should. The certificate comes from an independent accredited certification body after their own audit. We prepare you to pass it and we are there on the day to close findings. That separation is exactly what makes the certificate worth holding.
What does GDPR consultancy cost?
We price per engagement rather than per seat, because a single site business and a five site group need very different amounts of work. You get a written proposal covering scope, audit days and fees before committing to anything.
Which industries need GDPR?
We map GDPR to 6 sectors and it sits in our privacy practice. Organisations usually arrive because a specific buyer, regulator or tender committee has asked. Tell us who is asking and we will confirm whether this is the standard that satisfies them.
Do you have to visit our premises?
Both, and hybrid. Gap analysis and audit day usually benefit from someone physically present, while documentation and training work perfectly well remotely. We fit delivery to your sites and schedule rather than the reverse.
