Why expert advice is worth having
Organisations rarely fail ISO 26000 because the standard is hard. They fail because the evidence does not match what the auditor asks for.
It has to survive after we leave
A ISO 26000 system that only works while a consultant is on site fails its first surveillance audit. We build it so your own people can run it, and train them to do so.
Someone has to own the detail
ISO 26000 generates a large amount of small, unglamorous work. Left to whoever has a spare afternoon it drifts for months. Given an owner with a plan it takes weeks.
Surveillance never stops
A ISO 26000 certificate is the start of a three year cycle, not the end of a project. Building for the surveillance audits from day one costs far less than rebuilding before each one.
Your team already has a day job
Running ISO 26000 in house means taking your most capable people off revenue work for months. For most organisations that hidden cost is larger than the fee for doing it properly.

What ISO 26000 is worth to you
Certification is a commercial decision before it is a technical one. This is where the return usually shows up.
Stakeholder Concerns Structured
Guidance on identifying and engaging stakeholders replaces ad hoc reactions to whoever happens to complain most loudly this quarter.
Report Content Sorted
The core subjects give a sensible framework for a sustainability report when you have no idea where to begin writing.
Investor Questions Anticipated
Institutional investors ask about labour, community and governance practice, and answers grounded in recognised guidance land far better.
No Audit Cycle Attached
Because this is guidance rather than a certifiable requirement, you gain the framework without committing to annual surveillance visits.

Look at how it is structured before you commit
A good ISO 26000 document set is smaller than most people expect and far better organised. Numbering that makes sense, revision control that holds, records that prove the system ran rather than that someone wrote a policy. See it for yourself in a short demo before you decide who to work with.
ISO 26000 in detail
Guidance on social responsibility, and why it carries no certificate
ISO 26000 provides guidance on social responsibility. It is deliberately not a management system standard and not intended for certification, a point the standard itself makes plainly, so any organisation offering an ISO 26000 certificate is selling something the standard disowns. It sets out principles including accountability, transparency, ethical behaviour and respect for human rights, and organises practice into seven core subjects that apply equally to businesses, public bodies and non profit organisations.
Organisations turn to it when they want a credible structure for responsibility work without the obligations of a certifiable standard. It suits companies building a first sustainability position, group functions writing policy across many countries, and organisations answering customer or investor questionnaires about labour practice, human rights and community impact. It pairs well with reporting frameworks, since it supplies the underlying practice that reporting is meant to describe. Public sector and family owned businesses use it more than people assume.
Seven core subjects, mapped against how you already operate
The work is comparative. We take the seven core subjects, organisational governance, human rights, labour practices, the environment, fair operating practices, consumer issues, and community involvement and development, then assess what you already do against each. Most organisations find real substance in three or four and nothing written down in the others. Stakeholder identification comes next, since the standard treats responsibility as relational rather than as a list of good deeds performed at year end.
Then we prioritise. Relevance and significance are judged for your sector, geography and size, because a textile manufacturer using contract labour and a software firm with a graduate workforce carry genuinely different obligations under the same core subjects. Gaps become a programme with owners, indicators and reporting lines, integrated with the management systems you already operate rather than built as a parallel structure that nobody has time to maintain.
A structured position on responsibility you can report against
You end up with a gap assessment against the core subjects, a stakeholder map, a prioritised responsibility programme with indicators, policy positions on the subjects where you previously had none, and a self declaration describing how the guidance has been applied. Because certification is not available, credibility comes from evidence and from independent assurance of the information you report, which is a separate exercise entirely. We are explicit about that boundary with every client.
What changes is coherence. Commitments that lived in different documents, made by different departments at different times, become a single position with somebody accountable for it. Questionnaires from customers and investors get consistent answers. And the prioritisation exercise usually reveals one or two areas, often in the supply chain or in contract labour, where exposure is much larger than policy attention has been. That is normally the most valuable finding of the lot.

ISO 26000 questions we are asked most
What does ISO 26000 actually require from us?
You will need a defined scope, documentation that reflects actual practice rather than intent, evidence the system has been operating for a reasonable period, trained staff, and at least one internal audit and management review on file.
How long does ISO 26000 take?
Most ISO 26000 projects run three months or so. The single biggest variable is not the standard, it is how fast your team can be freed up for training and internal audit alongside their normal work.
Do you issue the ISO 26000 certificate yourselves?
No, and no consultant should. The certificate comes from an independent accredited certification body after their own audit. We prepare you to pass it and we are there on the day to close findings. That separation is exactly what makes the certificate worth holding.
How is ISO 26000 consultancy priced?
It depends on your headcount, how many sites are in scope and how much of a system already exists, so we quote after a short conversation rather than publishing a figure that would be wrong for most readers. Scope, timeline and fees come to you in writing first.
Which industries need ISO 26000?
We map ISO 26000 to 5 sectors and it sits in our social responsibility practice. Organisations usually arrive because a specific buyer, regulator or tender committee has asked. Tell us who is asking and we will confirm whether this is the standard that satisfies them.
Can you work remotely, or do you need to be on site?
Remote delivery covers most of a ISO 26000 project comfortably. We recommend onsite presence for the initial assessment and for the certification audit, where being in the room genuinely changes the outcome.
Prefer to just ask someone about ISO 26000 rather than fill in a form?
